About The Venue

Moon Winks was inspired by the love story of founder Roberta Tankanow’s parents and Andy Tankanow’s grandparents, Muriel and Oscar. They met at a restaurant in upstate New York called MoonWinks, and dated briefly before WWII began and Oscar left to fight. Despite the distance, he wrote to Muriel every day from foxholes in Europe. After the war ended, Oscar returned home, married his true love, started a family, and the rest is Moon Winks History. See our feature on mlive.com! Located in the heart of Dixboro, Moon Winks Café is at the heart of our community. We believe that great food, hot coffee, and a caring community can impact the lives of everyone we serve.
