The Headless

The Headless is a space rock and alt metal band from Michigan. We play heavy, guitar-driven music, layered and atmospheric under big vocal hooks. Our songs pack key changes and tempo shifts into four or five minutes, the kind of structure another band might spread across a ten-minute prog epic. The easiest way to put it is if Jim Steinman joined Alice in Chains. If you like Failure, Faith No More, Hum, or Superheaven, we're in that general area. This is a band for people who like stage theatrics and concept albums. It's big, thematic, and over-the-top on purpose, because that's the music we actually want to make. We've played together in different combinations for years, most recently as Diver. We record in bedrooms and basements around the state and put real work into the production, especially the tones and how the layers stack. We have exactly one long-term goal: to get big enough that someone, somewhere, builds a pinball machine themed around the band. Everything else is negotiable.
