Painted Friends

Painted Friends is a four piece indie rock band from Detroit, Michigan. Jeremiah McWhorter started Painted Friends as a solo project in 2017. It took about 2 years to complete the first album, which ended up being called To Feel the Ache of Old Age. The songs got Mitch Crosby’s attention a few months after its release in 2019. He joined the band as the drummer and we remained a two-piece for the next 6 years, recording and releasing three albums: Gomnia Volume 1 in 2021, Gomnia Volume 2 in 2024, and The Devil in the Deep State in January of 2025. Dan Zylinski joined the band after we played a show in early 2025 at New Dodge Lounge in Hamtramck, Michigan. The sound guy there is friends with Dan and hooked us up. Jonah Arevalo joined shortly after this in the fall of 2025 as our second guitarist after playing with Jeremiah in their local church band.
