Shallow Orbits consists of Doug Larsen (guitars, songwriting, vocals), Jim Miko (percussion, vocals) & John Cook (bass & vocals). SO hails from South East Michigan and forges the mid-west work ethic with the great Texas songwriting traditions. Lyrically SO stands on the shoulders of greats such as Tom Waits, Guy Clark, Kris Kristofferson, Gillian Welch, James McMurty & Bob Dylan. Musically & sonically the band is endlessly inspired by David Rawlings, Django Reinhardt, Jeff Tweedy, Nels Cline & Boston's own beloved Buffalo Tom! The band's sound is intelligent clever lyrics brushed with artistically distorted guitars, bombastic drums & bass designed to give listeners a fun & unique listening experience.
