TOED

TOED is a funk/blues-rock group based out of Detroit formed in February of 2022. They specialize in upbeat improvisational jams rooted in funk, soul, rock and the blues. The band is comprised of vocalist Simon Abohasira, vocalist and guitarist Kaj Althaus, bassist Jahan Rafi, multi-instrumentalist Sergio Montenaz, keyboardist Michael Najor, and drummer Jon Maltz. Each member is native to southeastern Michigan and they are based in Detroit today. A TOED performance is a cosmic blend of structured motifs and fluid improvisations. Their sound is inspired by legends such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Handcock, and the Doors, and a dash of Vulfpeck, Primus, and RHCP is thrown into the mix. From start to finish, a TOED show will have you on your feet, and you’re sure to leave with an earworm or two.
