Cult of Spaceskull: “I'm sure there would be some comparisons to Gwar, with the costumes and theatrics. Their show tells a story, which is somewhat difficult to decipher with all of the blood and gore. There was also a lot of drinking (they were slamming Hamms beers nearly the entire show and must have went through an entire case) and scantily dressed women. The show started with a blood sacrifice, leading into a (big-headed, costumed) police officer coming out to arrest them for marijuana possession. They ended up pulling out his eyes and then cutting out his heart and eating it. There was also a skeleton "sky dancer" in the middle of the crowd and a band member dressed as a giant octopus” –inspitemagazine“This brings us to present-day Detroit, where a trio of Motor City musicians known as Sonic Smut have delivered a fascinating six-track debut self-titled LP that is yet another entry in the D-Town musical zeitgeist. The six songs on Sonic Smut take us on a technicolor sleazeball journey with a blend of punk, funk, garage rock, psychedelia, experimental, stoner rock, and more. It’s an eclectic album that feels like the group mashed every influence and ran it through a blender. The influence of George Clinton can be found on a few songs, too.” –cleanandsoberstoner.comSupreme Mystic: “Furious & transcendental dose of Heavy post metal/ post hardcore Detroit Rock. Featuring current member of Earthmover, Universal Stomp, and Former member of Cold As Life, Sworn Enemy, Agents of Man, Terror, Cro-Mags (JM), Skarhead, Vehement Serenade etc A movement in the light in an era of darkness!” –rockindetroit.com“On the flipside, the vocalist from SUPERDEVIL has an impressively deep growl of a voice. It’s like if Tony the Tiger decided he wanted to take up a pack-a-day habit, and start singing in a band that took all of the best qualities from DEAD KENNEDYS and ANTISEEN and molded them into one big rock’n’roll monster. There’s a pretty great STIFF LITTLE FINGERS cover here as well. –maximumrocknroll“Chokesetter formed in 2018 with a few old friends and longtime veterans from the local music scene in Northwest Indiana. Having played in notable separate bands for years, these gentlemen forged a path together that would form a heavy hitting band of crunchy riffs and smooth grooves. Chokesetter combines several musical influences from Black Sabbath and Clutch all the way to Fu Manchu and passionately grind their wheelhouse in authentic feel-good rock-n-roll, stoner rock riffs and swing style blues. Chokesetter rises above the rest by being well seasoned and experienced in playing live to any kind of audience and making new fans wherever they play in any variation of lineup. Each member of the band has played in front of audiences of all sorts for over 20 years giving them elevated experience in engaging the crowd regardless of being a support or a headlining act while presenting a professional and seasoned business attitude. All of the guys in the band would honestly say that they will never give up on their love for purely rocking out and working hard to manifest their long time dream of being on the big stage with the deep understanding that being in a band is a passion, a privilege, a relationship, a business, a commitment, and a wild ride with all the ups and downs and that no matter what, Chokesetter is in it to win it.” –chokesetter.com
