February 2025 marked the release of EL PANTEÓN, the debut LP of downriver metal band The Formal Nightmare.
The 11-track LP marks a milestone for the band, which formed almost 10 years ago. “We’ve evolved our sound and attitude as a band during our time together,” says the band’s guitarist, Ram, “This LP, to me, is the amalgamation of our hard work and dedication to music.”
The Formal Nightmare entered Mount Doom Studios (Warren, MI) in 2024 with the studio’s producer, Clyde Wilson, to record the album. Knowing that Clyde had worked with local acts such as Jail and Mortal Disguise, The Formal Nightmare decided that Mount Doom would be the perfect place to record. EL PANTEÓN features themes that range from horror elements, mental health and societal struggles.
EL PANTEÓN is out now on all streaming platforms (Bandcamp, Spotify, etc.) and will be available on CD and cassette. Physical media and other merchandise will be available at The Formal Nightmare’s record release show, which will take place in April (details TBA).
